Newsletter from SGFC Secretary

Dear members,
The first thing I would like to do as the new Club Secretary for SGFC is
to thank Ade Gascoigne for all his hard work during his previous years
in the post.
I am one of three new faces on the committee this season, with John
Cornick replacing Phil Wakefield as Chairman, Ann Dale following on from
Sue Stanley as the new Treasurer and myself as the new Secretary.
Not having been involved with SGFC football club before it was great to
start and get my head around all the 'in's and out's' of the job.
I would like to thank everyone involved with the Club for making me feel
so welcome and helping me get into my new role.
Sadly, we have lost two teams this season (these things happen!), but we
want to actively bring more people to SGFC through events such as the up
coming Barn Dance (check website for more details and contact us for
ticket info) and the Halloween party we have planned for the end of
October - which we will open up to the whole village for the first time.
I'm sure I can say that all the coach's, helpers, parents and most
importantly the players, are very excited at the prospect of the new
season.
